Advocacy

The staff at Connect Melanoma are passionate about advancing melanoma research as it moves closer to a cure. Even with all the revolutionary medical advances in the treatment of melanoma, there is still much work to be done. We are committed to ensuring that this important work receives the funding needed for continued innovation and advancement in both treatments and diagnostics for all melanomas, including the rare subtypes.

Each staff member at Connect has experience in a broad range of advocacy efforts, from sitting with legislators asking for their support of measures that fund research, to participation in peer and grant review processes that award this funding. Not only does Connect send its own staff to these opportunities, it is our sincere desire to offer assistance to those whose physical or financial challenges prevent them from attending. We are certain that the many stories from patients, caregivers and family members would carry a profound impact in those offices, even further driving the support of legislation that advances melanoma research..
